"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil to triumph."

One of my favorite quotes (as well as one of my favorite email sigs!)!!! Seems frighteningly appropriate more than ever these days does it not? A very VERY powerful statement!

I first ran across that snippet when doing research for a debate for my high school current affairs class WAY back in 1968 or '69. It's stuck with me ever since.

Here's another one that I think hits home as well:

"Peace cannot be bought with bullets, but it can be bought with bread."
